Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement
Whether it ’s called Total Quality Management, continuous improvement , Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, or something else, the principles, concepts and tools are the same.

It should be easy for companies to continuously improve processes and products between 5 and 10% annually and thereby reduce costs by a similar amount.

The biggest constraints to continuous improvement are "management lacks": lack of discipline, lack of focus and lack of patience. Instead of staying the course it’s more common to chase the non-existent “magic pill” that promises order of magnitude improvement overnight.

About Lean Six Sigma: Lean Six Sigma is the most popular vernacular used today.

There is a misconception that Lean Six Sigma is only for large companies. Nothing is farther from the truth. Small companies can use the same tools to continuously improve their businesses. From a one person shop to the largest multinational corporations, Lean Six Sigma can be utilized to reduce costs and enhance profits.

Lean Six Sigma utilizes a martial arts analogy where the color of the belt signifies skill level. In a typical organization, utilizing Lean Six Sigma, there are a very few high trained Black Belts, perhaps engineers, a higher number of Green Belts, mid level managers, and even more Yellow Belts, supervisory and operational personnel.

Black Belts are typically trained and even certified externally.

Marv Meissner is a trained Black Belt and as such is proficient in and can teach all Lean Six Sigma tools.

As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Mr. Meissner has trained 400 Green Belts and led or coordinated 175 Green Belt projects with an annual profit impact of $12 million or more. Green Belts are proficient in both statistical and non-statistical tools; Yellow Belts are proficient in non-statistical tools.

Any size company can benefit from Six Sigma training by Marv Meissner
